2013 Readers Choice Awards - and the winner is...?

I am delighted to be able to announce that for the THIRD year running a quarter scale kit from Petite Properties has won the About.com award for
The Best Minature Building Kit!

This year our 1:48th 'Little Acorns School' kit romped to victory with a whopping 64% of the vote!!

Example of winning kit, constructed and decortated...

Of course NONE of this success would be possible without the support and constant enthusiasm of you all! I know that many of you have religiously voted throughout the competition and without that kind of voting support we certainly would not have won!

Needless to say Tony and I have yet again been overwhelmed by your support for our smaller scale designs and kits and we are incredibly humbled to have such an amazing and passionate following - Thank you xx

Spring Miniatura... A snowy adventure!

Hello everyone!
Spring Miniatura 2013 certainly had a very chilly feel to it as the unseasonal snow that fell throughout the weekend definitely made the whole event seem positively more ‘festive’ rather than spring like!  However ,both the organisers of the show and the stoic staff of the NEC came together to once again orchestrate an ‘un miss able’ event.

Sadly the heavy snowfall inevitably affected the number of visitors through the doors; however those customers who did make it to the show certainly seemed to really enjoy themselves and I was told time after time how visitors felt that their ‘snowy’ journeys were well worth the effort!
The view that greeted us from our hotel window on Saturday morning!

As I have already mentioned on this blog, 2013 is also a very special year for Tony and I, as Petite Properties is celebrating its first 10 years in the miniature world.

To celebrate this very special milestone we had an 18ft stand instead of our usual 12ft, which was REALLY well received by our customers!
The Petite Properties' stand at the 2013 Spring Miniatura show..!
The extra space enabled us to showcase all of the new smaller scale kits that we launched 'exclusively' at the 60th Miniatura show; which included the adorable 1:48th ‘Thimble Cottage’, the nostalgic 1:24th ‘Little Acorns School’ and the show stopping 1:48thSt. Thomas’ Church’.

If you were unable to get to the (very snowy) Spring Miniatura Show, then worry not! Tony is currently working frantically on our online shop and (if the internet gods are kind) all of our new products will be available to order ‘online’ later today…

Our daughter's Mo & Lucy joined us to celebrate our 10th birthday!
This spring, Miniatura also introduced a number of workshops, held throughout the weekend and I did one on the Sunday; which was loads of fun. Over all the workshops seemed to be very well received and popular with  visitors. I am not sure if Miniatura will run them again, but I for one am certainly hopeful that they will!
As ever it was also lovely to be able to catch up with so many of our regular customers and not forgetting many ‘Miniature Beehive’ members too!

In particular Tony and I must say a HUGE thank you to (doll maker) Eileen Brindley for our STUNNING '10th birthday' cake!!! Not only did it look incredible, but it was DELISHOUS too! Thank you Eileen xx

Our Grandson Noah meeting & greeting!
So despite it being a painful weekend (hobbling around in a fixed walker proved to be not much fun for me), the show itself was fantastic and all of the PP team really enjoyed themselves, even our latest very 'new born' addition, who proved to be a bit of a showstopper in himself...

Tony and I now are attempting to get back up to speed as we have the forthcoming Apeldoorn Show looming large on our horizon!! *eek  So it seems that there is indeed “no rest for the wicked…” and Tony and I must have been very wicked!

Spring Miniatura 2013 - Preview..!

Tony & I are really excited to announce the exclusive launch of an extra special 1:48th kit, at the forthcoming Spring Miniatura Show!!

'St Thomas' Church' began life as a highly personal project, one which was intimately inspired by the ecclesiastical architecture of both rural Lincolnshire and the idyllic churches of picturesque Hertfordshire.

St Thomas' Church is the latest addition to Petite Properties' '360' Premier Collection and the kit includes:  full colour step by step instructions, pre cut carcass, external vernacular detailing, doors, windows, internal detailing such as chancel screen, alter rail, 'stained glass windows' plus much, much more.

The church has a fully removable main roof, (x2) side roofs, chancel roof and bell tower roof. The front elevation (including porch), plus two further elevations of the bell tower are also fully removable for ease of access.

Our ('360'Premier Collection) 1:48th St Thomas' Church Kit is priced at  £49.99 (plus P&P as applicable)
Alongside St Thomas’ Church, we will also be launching a 'Furniture Kit Pack' to accompany the church which will include all the furniture kits required to fill the interior and bring St Thomas' to life!
